Privacy policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

Straightedge is run by Phoenix Technologies LLC, a limited liability company in Arkansas (“we”, “us”). This page explains what we collect when you use Straightedge at getstraightedge.com, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address and a password, which is stored only as a secure hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Your business records. What you and your team enter: customers and leads (names, phone numbers, email and street addresses), jobs, visits, estimates, invoices, payments, team members, tax rates and business details.
  • Job photos. Photos you add to jobs. We remove the location and other hidden details from each photo when it’s saved. We keep only the time it was taken.
  • QuickBooks, if you connect it. Your QuickBooks company ID and the access tokens QuickBooks issues, stored encrypted.
  • Security and error data. The IP address of each sign-up attempt, used to limit abuse. When something breaks, an error report with your account ID, your browser type and the page you were on. We remove email addresses and phone numbers from these reports before they’re sent, and they don’t include your records.
  • Shared documents. When you send a customer a link to an estimate or invoice, we record when the link is opened.

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Why we use it

  • To run Straightedge for you: show your records to you and your team, create the links you send customers for estimates and invoices, and sync to QuickBooks if you connect it.
  • To sign you in and keep your account secure, including blocking automated sign-ups.
  • To find and fix problems.
  • To reply when you contact us.

Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, we use your name, email address and profile picture only to create your account and sign you in. We don’t ask for access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts.

Straightedge’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use Google user data for advertising, we don’t sell it, and no person reads it unless you ask us to, it’s needed for security, or the law requires it.

Who else handles your information

We use these service providers to run Straightedge. Each gets only what it needs for its job.

  • Supabase stores your account, records and photos.
  • Vercel hosts the app.
  • Sentry receives the error reports described above.
  • Cloudflare runs the check that blocks automated sign-ups, and forwards email sent to support@getstraightedge.com.
  • Resend delivers account emails, such as password resets.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Intuit QuickBooks, only if you connect it. We send it the customers, invoices and payments you choose to sync.

We share information beyond this only if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business. If that happens, this policy keeps applying to your information.

These providers may process your information in the United States.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your account and records while your account is open. You can delete individual records and photos in the app. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email support@getstraightedge.com from the address on the account. We’ll confirm, then delete it within 30 days. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.

You can also email us to ask for a copy of your information or to correct it.

If you disconnect QuickBooks, we delete its access tokens. Records already synced stay in your QuickBooks company.

Customers of businesses that use Straightedge

If a business that uses Straightedge has your details, that business decides what to keep and what to send you. Contact that business first. If you can’t reach them, email support@getstraightedge.com and we’ll help.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and each business can see only its own records. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.

Children

Straightedge is a tool for businesses and isn’t meant for anyone under 18.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email first.
