SStraightedge

Terms of service

Last updated October 5, 2026

Straightedge is run by Phoenix Technologies LLC, a limited liability company in Arkansas (“we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between us and you, the business that uses Straightedge at getstraightedge.com. Straightedge is for business use. By creating an account, you agree to these terms, and you confirm you’re at least 18 and allowed to agree for your business.

Your customers don’t need an account, and opening an estimate or invoice link you send them doesn’t make them one.

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we handle it.

This is a beta

Straightedge is in public beta. It’s still being built, so features may change, move or be removed, and there may be bugs or times when it’s unavailable.

Price

Straightedge is free during the beta. Before we start charging, we’ll email you at least 30 days ahead with the price. That email will also say whether free accounts will close, and by when you can ask for a copy of your data. We won’t charge you unless you choose a paid plan.

Your account and your team

  • Give accurate sign-up details, and keep your password or Google account secure.
  • You decide who on your team has access, and you’re responsible for what the people you add do in your account.
  • If you think someone else has got into your account, email support@getstraightedge.com right away.

Your data is yours

  • You keep ownership of the records and photos you put into Straightedge. You let us store, process and share them only as needed to run Straightedge for you: through the service providers in the privacy policy, the links you send customers, and services you choose to connect. We don’t sell them.
  • Anyone who has an estimate or invoice link you send can open it, so share links only with the people they’re for.
  • You need the right to store your customers’ details and photos, and to send them estimates and invoices. Their information is in your care.
  • Email support@getstraightedge.com for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything in it. We’ll check the request comes from the account owner, then delete it within 30 days, as the privacy policy describes. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire, and we keep anything the law requires us to. Estimates and invoices you already sent, and records synced to QuickBooks, stay where they went.

Check your numbers

Straightedge adds up estimates, invoices and taxes from the prices and tax rates you enter. You’re responsible for checking them before you send them, and for your own taxes. Straightedge isn’t accounting, tax or legal advice.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Straightedge to:

  • break the law, or mislead or defraud anyone;
  • send spam or messages people didn’t ask for;
  • upload anything you don’t have the right to share, or anything harmful, such as malware;
  • get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, or test our security without our written permission (if you find a problem, please email us);
  • overload Straightedge, scrape it, or resell it.

Other services

If you sign in with Google or connect another service, such as QuickBooks, that service’s own terms apply to it too. We aren’t responsible for services we don’t run.

Our part of Straightedge

We own the Straightedge software, name and design. You may use them only to run your business on Straightedge. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Ending your use

  • You can stop using Straightedge at any time, and ask us to delete your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or Straightedge at risk. Where we reasonably can and the law allows, we’ll tell you why and let you get a copy of your data.
  • If we plan to shut Straightedge down, we’ll email you at least 30 days ahead so you can ask for a copy of your data. An emergency or a legal requirement could force us to close sooner.

No warranty

Straightedge is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it, including that it will be error-free or always available, and including any promise of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limit on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue or lost data. Our total liability for all claims about Straightedge or these terms, added together, is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim. Where the law doesn’t allow these limits, they apply as far as it does.

If someone else makes a claim against us because you broke the law, broke these terms, or used material you had no right to, you’ll cover our reasonable legal costs and any damages from that claim. This doesn’t cover claims caused by our own mistakes. We’ll tell you about such a claim promptly, and won’t settle it in a way that makes you pay without your agreement.

Law and disputes

Arkansas law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Arkansas. Please email us first. Most problems can be sorted out that way.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For a significant change, we’ll tell you in the app or by email first, with the date it takes effect. If you don’t agree, stop using Straightedge and ask for a copy of your data or deletion before that date. If you keep using Straightedge after it, you accept the new terms.

If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Straightedge.
